What is your professional background?

I have a degree in Engineering and worked in a commercial world for 15 years before embarking on Psychotherapy training.

Where did you train? Qualifications?

I trained with IPSS (a member of UK Council for Psychotherapy) and have an MA awarded by the University of North London. I qualified in 1999.

My qualifications include a Diploma and a Master of Arts (MA).

What is your treatment approach?

My approach can be described as being based on Freud and as developed by Klien and Relational.

Can you tell me about the type of therapies you practise?

It is psychoanalytic where I use my sense of the other to engage with my clients deep feelings.

What types of problems can you help with?

Over the past 20 years as a psychotherapist / counsellor I have dealt with all sorts of anxieties and relational issues.

How will I know if counselling / therapy is working?

Ability to function better, easing of anxiety, ability to consider changes.

What types of patients do you enjoy working with?

I work with adults of different genders, sexual orientations and ethnical backgrounds and I enjoy working with a variety of people.

You are a therapist in Crouch End in North London. What can you share with about seeing clients in this area?

I enjoy the mix of cultures and diversities.

My private counselling practice in Crouch End (N8) is located within easy walking distance of Highgate and Muswell Hill and within a short distance of many transport links making it easily accessible by train, bus and walking.

What is your consultation room like?

A normal room with a sofa, arm-chairs, books and plants.

What do you wish people knew about therapy?

One of the most important aspects is that of the unconscious (made of of long forgotten memories) that influences our lives in the here-and-now. 

What do you like about being a counsellor / therapist?

Working with and helping people.
